The preview is sanitized before it is displayed: script and style elements, iframes, event handler attributes and javascript: URLs coming from your input are removed, and images are kept only when their source is an absolute http(s) or data:image URL. The sanitizer combination is shown above; the HTML below the preview is the cleaned markup.

Markdown to HTML, With a Sanitized Preview

Markdown is a plain-text format, so a browser cannot display it as a formatted page — it has to be converted to HTML first. This tool does that conversion and shows both results: a rendered preview of headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, code blocks, links and images, and the HTML source that you can copy or download. The converter is the marked library, served from this site instead of an external CDN, and it runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Because Markdown may contain raw HTML, the preview is sanitized before it is displayed: script and style elements, iframes, event handler attributes such as onerror and javascript: URLs are removed, first with DOMPurify and then with a built-in pass over the finished DOM. Every conversion reports how many items were removed, so you can see the sanitizer working. What the tool does not do: it does not check your Markdown against a dialect.
